Introducing the Hummingbird x BRM folding bike!

We have teamed up with historic motor racing specialists, British Racing Motors, to bring you one of our most exciting collaborations to date.

Earlier this year, we launched the World's first folding bike handcrafted from flax plant fibres. The new Hummingbird x BRM model will also feature this pioneering material, weighing just 6.9kg and with a limited run of 17 bikes to honour the total BRM Grand Prix team victories.

This exclusive bike encapsulates the DNA of BRM and Hummingbird, with exceptional engineering, innovative materials, and unmistakable design, handcrafted in Britain.

Reawakening British Motorsports’ History

Since its inception in 1949, British Racing Motors has shaped the country's representation in the sport.

BRM was Britain's first and original F1 team, racing from 1950 to 1974, competing in 172 Grand Prix and winning 17. BRM is also one of two constructors to win the World Championship with a car they designed and built themselves.

Fast-forward to 2022 the motorsports icon has a new venture, the 'Reawakening' project. 

The project ethos is to tell the BRM story and introduce the brand to a fresh audience through new and innovative means.

Paul Owen, Director of BRM, announced, "BRM’s 'Reawakening' is designed to not only tell the story of Britain's First F1 team, introduce it to a new audience and position it for the future, but also to highlight everything that the team stands for - innovation, experimentation, craftsmanship and high-quality British engineering.

"Both ProDrive and Hummingbird share this ethos, and it is for precisely that reason that we are excited about this collaboration and where it may take us.”

Our limited edition bike celebrates the 60th Anniversary of BRM's World Championship Constructors title and perfectly echoes the periodic elements that made British Racing Motors successful.

In addition to beautiful design, advanced materials and hand-built innovation, each bike displays a VIN plate denoting the edition number and Grand Prix win. The frames are also custom painted in the classic BRM partnership colours, with a display window of exposed lacquered flax, showcasing this innovative material.

Hummingbird x BRM Bike Specifications

The collaborative bike captures the essence of British Racing Motors in appearance and engineering, seamlessly embodying ‘when old meets new’.

Size and Weight

The bike weighs 6.9 kg, with compact folded dimensions (117x60x20 centimetres - 46x23x8 inches) for effortless portability.

Advanced Belt-Drive System

The high-performance belt drive features weather-resistant polyurethane exterior and strong, stretch-free carbon fibre tensile cords to meet the demands of every rider.

High-Performance Tyres

A striking tri-spoke carbon wheelset houses high-performance Schwalbe Kojak tyres, with Kevlar bead, puncture protection and a reflective band for high visibility.

Innovative Flax Plant Fibre Frame

Sustainable and stylish, the BRM bike is crafted with our pioneering flax plant fibre material. Unlike all previous flax bikes, this is the first custom-painted frame with a window exposing the unmistakable lacquered flax. 

Brooks Leather Saddle and Handlebars

The saddle’s chrome-plated steel rails and frame offer the perfect blend of style and strength. Handmade using traditional 100-year-old techniques and the finest vegetable-tanned leather.

Full carbon handlebars, 520mm wide with a 50mm rise to allow adjustment of reach, encased in Brooks leather handles to match the custom seat.
